How do I update my SSL library on git?

Have you tried cloning to a different directory besides “2” or even do not specify a directory and settle for the default directory structure?

Edit:
Have you tried cloning any other Git repositories?

Interesting link from Microsoft:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/how-to-install-and-run-32-bit-software-on-64-bit/bd15a6cb-2988-40c2-adf9-ac2af0de3ddb

Yeah, that’s what I was trying to allude to. There are times when you can install 32 bit programs on 64 bit systems, but sometimes you will actually get a message saying that the program can’t be installed on the current system because it’s not the correct system. I don’t mean that it isn’t impossible, just that the installer may actually not open at all and give you that kind of error message.

Will the free version of CCleaner do the trick?

I have tried cloning other repos, and I get the same error. And I did everything I’m doing on here on my laptop and it worked. So I don’t think a different directory will do anything, idk tho.

I haven’t tried uninstalling Git via CCleaner, but I’m pretty sure it’ll do the trick. Try uninstalling it and then reinstalling the newer version and see if that works. If you get the same issue after uninstalling it and reinstalling it, then we’ll have to figure out what is the culprit.

I think a different named directory is well worth a try also have you tried downloading and installing the Zip version?

So instead of cloning it to this

Desktop/codeProjects/kaneConcrete

i created a new desktop folder and I did it like this

Desktop/kaneConcrete

Is this what you ment? And this didn’t work btw

No I didn’t try zip. How would I do that?

Sorry man, but how do I use this? I was hoping there’d be a search bar and it would just find every git file. It looks like I’m gonna have to find them though.

Edit: I’ll read the instructions

Since you don’t seem to have technical know-how, may I ask why do you want to clone that Git repo?

If you’re just looking to grab the files there, well, you can do so by downloading the zip file of that repo, via this URL:

Click on the Options tab on the left hand side and there should be an option that says Uninstall.

So i did the remove the drive or folder option. And went into my hardrive I grabbed the Git folder from
program files and program files (x86). There was only a git config file in each one so I I’m sure I didn’t delete every git file. Sure enough I close CCleaner go back into those folders and the files are still there. I then opened the start in the taskbar and searched “git” started going down the list of very file that had git in the name and tried to drag and drop into CCleaner. Can’t do that so i right clicked on every file and copied the directory path and pasted it in there and deleted them that way. But the files are still there? I’m helpless

In that case you will want to start with basics and first get familiar with the OS you use. It seems you don’t know how to uninstall a software installed on Windows, so I’d recommend starting from there first - look up Windows help section on how to do that.

As for Git, here are some resources to help you learn:

Sorry, I meant to say click on Tools. I have used Windows in a long time so I couldn’t remember where the Uninstall option was.

@amitgupta
They know how to install Git. They probably had a working Git installation from an earlier point. When they installed the newer version, it broke. That’s what we’re trying to sort out.

I just mentioned that because it seemed OP was lost on how to uninstall Git when someone earlier suggested that it might be a good idea to uninstall all Git versions & then do a clean install of the latest version.

That person was me. We’re trying to uninstall their Git so that it doesn’t have any lingering files which may cause the problem.

So I just downloaded the zip files so I could start working on it. That’s why I’ve been away for a minute. But anyway I opened tools in CCleaner and typed ‘git’ in the search bar and removed every program that came up. But When I opened the start/menu and typed ‘git’ I got loads of git related files. Some were related to Android Studio which I had downloaded, so I deleted that. Others were related to guthub desktop I think So I deleted that, but there are still a ton of files as this picture shows?

Also I checked my network speed. my download speed is 8.25Mb/s and I have a ping of 41ms? I don’t know if this is bad or the main problem, but I was able to clone this repo on my laptop using the same network
