How do I do a MOD REWRITE?

Hi,

I would like:

www.sitename.com/product.php?letter=a

to be rewritten as:

www.sitename.com/a.htm

I know it is possible, I just do not know how to do it!

Can you help me please?

That was a very basic question which I interpreted as requiring more of a tutorial rather than a solution (so you can apply what you learn elsewhere). Therefore, please have a read of the REGEX section (and EXAMPLES) of the tutorial article linked in my signature. You might benefit from reading the mod_rewrite tutorial linked in my signature as it contains explanations and sample code. It’s helped may members and should help you, too.
