Guest blogging

Is that real that guest blogging is dead?

You can write in google or any other search engine “is guest blogging dead - matt cutts” or something like that and you will se what is talking about, but some people do not agree with that.

Is guest blogging realy spammy, are comments on blogs are not spammy, are article sites not similar to guest blogging? And if that is true, what is next ?

My biggest problem with guest blogging as a way to promote your website is that I’m not convinced that it does…

So you post an article on someone else’s website, and you get a link … how much good do you think that link will do you in Google’s eyes? It’s unlikely to be a whole lot. And what’s more, you’re giving that other site some good content, which is going to draw a lot more search traffic to that page on their site. So the site that you’ve put your blog post on is the main beneficiary, not you. And once people have read it, if they like it they are much more likely to go back to that site, only a handful will follow through to find out more about the author.

What I can see a lot more value in is posting a teaser on other sites, linking back to the full article on your own site. That way, you get all the benefits of links, content and traffic … but of course, you might find it harder to get other sites to accept that offer![/font]

I don’t have the same take on guest blogging. True, the link thing may not help for Google or for your site traffic, but if you guest blog at good sites, you will build your own credibility as an author and authority on your subject. For instance, what SEO pro would turn down the chance to guest blog at SEO Moz? What copywriter would turn down the opportunity to write for Copy Blogger or web designer write for Smashing or Mashable? Besides which, guest blogging also helps you build contacts in your field of expertise, something of which, we can all use more.

I am totally a newbie to SEO as compare others.but
i had read about this… i don’t think that guest posting is dead…if anybody using guest posting as main SEO strategy… you just have to think a lot more about it.
I don’t about that much but i think guest posting has to be done with right process with quality content… that give user a very new kind of information …that they haven’t seen before.

Any thing the members want to suggest me ?
Thanks

SEO-wise, Guest blogging is still working very well! If you think about it, guest blogging is writing a high quality piece of content to add value to the hosted website and to get a nice clean legitimate link from that relevant website. Some people though understood guest blogging as content syndication which in my opinion they are two different things.

think of guest blogging in a wider context. If you can guest blog on a site that usually doesn’t do guest blog posts, has few indications of guest blogging anywhere on its site, and in general does not have a lot of external links other than quality resources, then your guest blog will probably benefit you greatly. On the other hand if you have a blog that auto accepts guest blog posts, the external links are pointing to all sorts of irrelevant industries, You can imagine that your link on that site will get devalued pretty harshly.

Don’t use Guest Blogging for SEO purposes. The large scale of guest posts alarmed Google and some of the webmasters, writers, and website owners uses this kind of large scale article marketing with their keyword-rich anchor text links just to manipulate rankings. Google will implement action on this abusive way of Guest posting.

Any techniques that is used to manipulate SERP is against Google webmasters tos… But that doesn’t means guest blogging is dead. You can still use it but you should target new keywords every time.
