Gravity Forms Letter Count for Product

I want to be able to use an input box in Gravity Forms as a counter for my quantity. Basically, charge per letter. So when someone types in ABC; either a quantity box would change to 3; or it would be used as a variable in a merge tag for product calculations.

Any know how to do this?

On change of the input get input.value.length
