Google Map error

now im trying to figure out whats wrong with the map situation,
when I op[en up the page & check the console

Thats greek to me but Im guesssing I need a API key.
When I try to get one,

(the get started thing is not working, as I cant get to step 3)

Have you kept up with the recent pricing / billing changes?

I had read somewhere that Google requires a credit card number, even if you’re not actually purchasing anything, just to use their API.

If this is true: WTF???

From the link @Mittineague posted:

Is that just for cloud? Or is that for all their APIs?

Not to stray too far off course by discussing what should be another topic, @lurtnowski does your code involve “cloud” in anyway? If so, it would be worth you looking for current documentation.

The general impression I get is that the Google Maps API is now “tiered”, i.e. “free use” up to a limit and charges are applied if and when that limit is exceeded - as long as you have supplied a credit / debit card - else the API will return an error.

Based on the error you are getting, my guess is that you have not provided a way for Google to charge you for the use of the API, and that you are exceeding the “free” use limits of the service.

The short, if not desired, solution for the problem is for you to either be willing to pay for the service or limit your use of it in some way.
