Good idea to display prices for web design/development?

Hi there,

I am wondering if it is a good idea to display prices for web design and development services on an agency website? Maybe something like “from $xxx”

Any thoughts would be great!

Thanks

IMHO - Yes. Package services is a common method to lower the threshold to hit the button. Make 3 packages Small, Medium and Custom. No price tag for custom.

Yeah, I have to agree. Having a clear example of what you get for the price as well. Try to make sure your customers have a clear expectation of what they’re paying for, and leave the “if you want more…” option unspecified as to price.

Thanks for the replies.

I have seen some pricing plans that offer a website based on a monthly/yearly fee. Is this a good route to go down or is it better to price at a one-off project fee?

Thanks!

A low monthly fee is better than a one-time-fee IMO. You make an even revenue and the customer also an even cost. Lower threshold for most cases. And you can offer minor updates included or other services in order to raise the monthly fee. But you may lock the customer in for at least one year to get payed for the initial work.

Hello,
Showing your price can be a good way to skip all the customers that are looking for low prices. It’s a good way not to undervalue your work.

But, if you choose this option, make sure to specify all the items of your service. Showing a price can scare away visitors if you don’t give detailed informations.

Your customers have to know all the skills are needed to do the job. It is well known that the price are easier to accept if the customer find out what it’s all about.
