Does my website have a good UX?

I know I’ve posted my website here before, but since it’s changed so much, I would really like some fresh feedback. The website is https://www.isaacadni.com, and it’s a self-promotional website with the aims of getting people to sign up to my email newsletter and being a showcase for myself and my music. I have recently optimised it to try and make it load very fast. Please could I have suggestions for any (if any) improvements that will help my website better serve its aims or just generally be better
Many thanks,
Isaac

My first impression is that it looks too “Spammy”. On my desktop monitor, when I arrive on the site, all I see is the large “sign up for my newsletter” section. But why should I? What do I know about you? There is some information about you if I scroll down, but in my opinion, that should be the first thing I see.

It still seems a bit short on actual content to me. You say it’s self-promotional, and it certainly reads that way, but if you’re trying to attract followers, I think you would do better to give a bit more in return by way of interesting information about you and your music. As it is, it seems (to me) so much like sheer advertising that I find it somewhat off-putting.

Your question, does my website have a good user experience? Quick answer, no.

I clicked on the link and within 10 seconds I closed the window again. I didn’t read it. As @TechnoBear said, it’s very Spammy. It felt like one of those pop-up adverts that hit you when you least expect it trying to sell you something or promise to make you a millionaire in 24 hours.

Suggestion on improving the user experience would be simplify things.

I’ve just opened the link again so that I can give some feedback
The top nav, keep it. It’s nice and clean.

Get rid of the green and the transparent background with your photo behind it. The photo makes it really hard to read the text. My eyes are constantly fighting to focus on the text. One minute I spot the photo, then I see the text, then the photo, then the text.

I’ve just noticed you actually have 3 photos of yourself on the homepage. I know you said it’s about self promotion but that’s a bit overkill.

I just clicked on your About tab in your nav and your about us scrolls to the top of the screen. This made an instant improvement to the site - it got rid of the massive arrows and call to action to sign up to your newsletter.

If I was you, I’d sit down and write down a short list of things you want your website to do for you and priorities them, something like:

  1. Self promotion, so make the site about you.
  2. Promote your content (Videos, songs etc)
  3. Least important in my eyes, get people to sign up to your newsletter.

Hope this helps.

Ok @TechnoBear @OwainGDWilliams I’ve made some improvements. How’s it now?

Well you kept me on your site for more than 10 seconds this time

I think the site is still missing a flow to it but it’s going in the right direction. Your content should work without having to put big arrows to point people around your site.

Have a look at other websites that you like and use their ideas - don’t copy a site but again make notes of what you like, what you don’t like and see if you can work that in to your design.

I didn’t see any of the previous incarnation, so I’ll give you what I notice on this one…

Like @OwainGDWilliams said, your content needs some tweaking

Some things I personally would change, but take that for what you will…

  • Simplify your opening. I would move Singer. Songwriter. Producer right after your name in the header, move the next sentence into the next paragraph to make one paragraph, and get rid of the last sentence, I also would personally move the social media icons to the header (changing the color obviously - probably white) so they are always visible.
  • Personally, I like the photo in the background better than the one you’re using in the circle. I know the circle “avatars” are very in (thanks google grumble) but in this case it looks out of place - it may be because it cuts off some of your hair…
  • The orange and green is killing me. They don’t really go together…
  • Lose the arrows - they’re not needed.

First, I say very well designing. I suggest to write your detail in the bottom of the site because it looks good, on top of side it only displays latest tracks, newsletter, among many thing to include your side. I instead to refer any other musician website, see that and according that you change your website look and content…
