Heh, you didn’t ask how I turn them off. :stuck_out_tongue: (Perhaps just as well, though.)

I love listening to trance music while I code, so good.

I’ll bite :fish:.   How do you turn them off ???

I usually don’t have music or anything playing if I’m coding. This is because when I get really into it, I don’t want to switch tabs to search for a new soundtrack or video to play and listen to.

Same way I turn people off—with bad puns. They slink off into a corner, heads hanging, tail between their legs, paws over their ears.

Heh, there are some sites/services that play music continuously—either a particular artist, or playlists of your choice. Still, I can only do that with non-wordy activities.

Well then. I guess when I’m too focused, I can’t just snap out of it. It happened once on a work day. I was coding and when I finally looked at the clock, it was like 1 AM and I had to work at 7 AM. So I only had 6 hours of sleep because I was too focused coding.

I can’t work without music. the type and volume of the songs depend on what i am doing .i use to listen soft and calm instrumental music while working.else songs with vocal surely distract me.

Today has been a productive day, and mostly because I’ve shut the world out with the ear buds.

A steady diet of Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, Chris Cornell, Soundgarden, KT Tunstall, Kate Bush, Kosheen, Ozzy Osbourne, The Mars Volta, The Manic Street Preachers, Green Day, The Buzzcocks, Velvet Revolver, Elbow, Wilson Pickett, Santana, Rush, Whitesnake, The Sundays, Joy Division, Incubus, The Stranglers, Pink Floyd, Snow Patrol, Joe Satriani, Lacuna Coil, Simple Minds, Sneaker Pimps, Faithless, Skunk Anansie, Thin Lizzy, U2, The Cardigans, Dire Straits, Cave In, Etienne De Crecy, No Doubt, Mike McCready, John Mayall, Lamb, The National, Stereophonics, Peter Green, Judas Priest, The Tourists, Red Fang, Deftones, AC/DC, Pink, Queensryche, All About Eve & Joan Osborne has seen to that…

I love random play!

Wonder why? Maybe she gets a little lost in amongst the other 10.5k tracks on my iPod…

I do the long yt playing jazz piano and guitar…

I don’t always listen to music, but when I really need to concentrate I use music that helps me get into the flow. Most of the times it’s music without words like classical or jazz. As of now I often use focus@will. It works very well for me. Check out the science behind music for concentration and focus.

I find it pretty much necessary to drawn all the random sounds around these days.

I sometimes create a “difficult situation” for me when I code. Just to stress my brain a little bit, LOL.
I play a movie in English language, then sometimes I watch it, but for the most of the time I don’t look at it and I only listen the english phrases. I’m Italian… and you know, I still have to learn english perfectly. But I find this solution (sometimes, not everytime) quite stimulating for me.

As for music, I also listen to music with english words for the most of the time, and as far as I only love the “Music” itself instead of the “Lyrics”, well, there is really no problem for me here. But sincerely, to be true, I found myself to better work with electronic music (most of the time no words at all, and just music), if I have to say it all. Ultimately I listened to this collection something like more than 10 times!
