I didn’t think that direct linking was allowed with google adwords but I recently saw some ads using this method. How exactly do they do this and is it allowed?
I haven’t been involved in adwords to affiliate pages for years so I might be completely off base here but wasn’t the change that was made (years ago) that only one ad could link to a url? So you could do affiliate linking so long as you were the first person to link to that url?
And also that so long as the Display URL matched the Destination URL you would be fine as well.
But like I said it’s been years since I was in the affiliate space.
It’s not permitted but doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen until people get caught. Of course sometimes the companies with the end site advertises themselves, or manufacturers advertise their retailers which looks like an affiliate… odd things happen.

Redirects are not allowed, direct linking is the only thing that is allowed.
