Dan Schulz RIP - We Will Miss You

Dan will be missed. He leaves behind lots of good.

Correct.

Oh my goodness!!! :bawling:

I often spoke with Dan on AIM. I had also noticed he had not been on in quite some time. :frowning:

He was a very nice guy! I really enjoyed talking to him. He had such a passion for web design and wordpress. I loved the energy he had. He was always working on something.

This news is a total shock!

I had no idea he was ill. I barely even knew him really, but we talked like everyday for the last couple years. I tried countless times to get him to show me a pic of himself, but could not get him to budge.

I regret not having gotten to know him better!

Dan, I will miss you buddy! :frowning:

Very sad to hear this.

RIP Dan

I have no words. I am truly sad and shocked. So unexpected. So sorry. I will miss him. :frowning:

My thoughts with Dan’s family. His brother must be having such a hard time. No time to cope with everything.

What a shock this must be for his family, especially after his mum’s passing. I’m so sorry. :frowning:

Like everyone else, I am shocked and without words. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Please be sure to update this post if there is any donation or event in his memory.

We will miss you Dan :frowning:

RIP.

RIP Dan. Even though I don’t post frequently here or on DP anymore, I’m a great lurker and always thought what a nice talented helpful guy Dan was. I always looked forward to reading his responses to posts.

He will definitely be missed. My thoughts and condolences to his family and all his friends.

Life is so short.

OMG, I just thought of the PMs I used to get from Dan… They were always really long. Seriously, did anyone ever get a PM from him that was less than 200 words long? Over at the SEO.com forum, I think we raised the PM word limit just for him!

This is very sad news. Dan was fantastic both in providing feedback on early Marketplace developments and in our move to Flippa.com

Datura just told me in an e-mail. I am stunned.

It’s amazing how someone you’ve never met face to face becomes more than just a name. I’ve had many discussions with Dan over the years about nearly any topic worth discussing (and some not worth discussing). He was a person who Murphy repeatedly laid his law down upon, but he always got up from the challenge and appeared a better man for it. From his mother’s struggles to his own run-ins with his health or his computers or whatever challenges happened upon him, he never gave up. His resolve and strength of will astounded me more than anything else about him.

RIP my friend - you will be missed :frowning:

Wow, I’m really shocked. I don’t post much around here but when I was more active I always admired how helpful, kind and talented he was. It really made me sad to hear this news :frowning:

RIP, Dan.

:agree:

Very sad news. Many condolences to all of Dan’s family and friends. :frowning:

Totally unexpected, terrible news. :frowning:

WOW!!!:(:(::(:frowning:

This is the saddest tragedy. I cannot beleive this happened.

I met Dan almost 4 years ago right when I was starting to learning how to code. We used to stay up late on AIM and talk about EVERYTHING.( Football, CSS, HTML, Javascript, Life) He was truly a close friend to me on and off the forums.

I even helped him design his logo at one point and time on his website - http://www.dan-schulz.com/

He always gave me good advice about everything. Told me to always keep my chin up high and work hard at what I do.

Dan - was such a great web developer. Always eager to learn and acheive great things in life.

My condolences and prayers go out to his entire family.

You will certainly never be forgotten.

RIP Dan

I hope your looking down on me and including all of the forum members.

This is horrible!! I cannot explain.

Love Yah Dan!!

:(:(:(:(:(:frowning:

I rushed home as soon as Blake texted me that Dan died. I was literally in awe. He has always been sort of a … idol to which I looked up to him, father figure if you would. We talked often when I first joined Sitepoint over a year ago, like Blake- web design in general, football, baseball, and how life was in general. He has become more then just an online friend, he’s something I can’t even describe. It just is amazing how much of an influence he had over everyone who knew him.

R.I.P. Dan I’ll mention you next time I’m at church and ask for prayer for the family, especially the relatives since they must be taking this the hardest

I hope somewhere there is a computer in Heaven/the next place and you can see how much you meant to us.

Been about 30 minutes I read it, I still cannot believe this news. It’s the first time someone I know (and care about, now I realize) online-only has passed away (so young!). Not much personal connections with Dan but I always had the feeling that he was a great guy. Rest in peace…
