Could Includes Slow Down My Page Load?

The link above is a site that I am still building and I have used three PHP includes - header, sidebar and a footer. But for whatever reason, the page appears to be hanging up on the sidebar.php include that loads the div #subnav. And it also looks as if the image at the top of that div “gfx_verse.jpg” does not want to load properly.

I am using Safari 4.0.5 and Firefox 3.6 on a Mac running 10.5.8.

I have never really had this problem with any of the static html sites that I normally build and so I was wondering if it could have something to do with the PHP includes since that is the latest elements added. If the PHP is not the problem and if I am in the wrong forum, I apologize.

Thanks in advance!

Works just fine for me (FF 3.6 on windows XP).

I just tried it on two alternate machines and it appears to load nicely, too. They are both running earlier versions of Safari. One is Safari 4.0.4. Could it be a browser issue? Not sure. Again, sorry if I am in the wrong forum.

If it works on one machine, and not on the other, then I’d say it’s not a server side problem. That means no PHP problem.

Thanks guido. Checking with the host now…

Includes shouldn’t affect the host, they process the actions before the page loads and any impact on the resources should be minimal. I would say if you are getting issues it may be something to-do with the way your host handles page requests - may be an issue with the quality of background process management.
