I have a business name that is unique, and I want to own that name so others can’t use it. Do I copyright it or trademark it? This s**t is confusing me.

Names you file trademarks on. The logo you can copyright [and mark as well].
However, filing a trademark is fairly technical and while you can certainly read up on it yourself, mis-executing will result in a denial or even worse, a useless mark.
