Hello, I have a website that is running on WordPress version 4.2.18. I used to have Contact Form 7 on it but it randomly deactivated. Now I am trying to reactivate it, but the new version is not supported by my WordPress version (and I am trying to not update my WordPress because I will lose out on custom settings).
I have a backup of my older ContactForm7 Plugin and when I download it onto wordpress, it stays for 2 mins but then gives me the error that its gone again and i should install it.
So i installed the new version - which does not work on my WP (old version), but then I replaced some of the files with my old Contact Form 7 backup files, and now I have it installed and showing up on my wordpress under activated plugins, BUT if I click submit on my form, it leads to another random page that isnt mine, and I dont think i am getting leads either…
When I go into plugins - Contact Form 7 and click settings: I get this error:
“Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_rest_url() in /wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/admin/admin.php on line 304”
Is there any fix around it so I can keep using the plugin ? I have other websites on the same version of WP that have Contact Form 7 installed and they are working fine.
ANY help would be appreciated as I have been researching and playing around with this for 5 hours now.
