I have just installed the server on my Apple (10.5) and reading through the “build your database website…”.
The green lights are showing up on the Apache and Mysql on MAMP startup. and the opening page was opening. That is until I changed the password from root to my own password. Now the opening page won’t startup and I get the error:
Error: Could not connect to MySQL server!
I also received this error upon opening the program:
Error message:
/Applications/MAMP/Library/bin/mysqlcheck: Got error: 1045: Access denied for user ‘root’@‘localhost’ (using password: YES) when trying to connect
I’d appreciate any help you can offer. I’m not technically trained so will have to be practically spoon fed the answer. I noticed others in the forum have been having errors with the password change.
