Can not get menu to show on top of DIV

I am using a slider with the Prototype framework and a drop menu using jQuery. I have tried all sorts of z-index settings on different DIVs and nothing seems to bring my drop down menu in front of the home page DIV. See here : http://www.piermarketing.com/

On the interior pages the drop down menu floats over the DIV below it. See here : http://www.piermarketing.com/advertising/

Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to make my drop down menus show on the home page?

This and some proof reading is all I have left before the formal launch of the site too. Any feedback would be much appreciated!

z-index only works for positioned elements. You should add position: relative to #menu and it should work!

#menu {
    background: url("images/bg_menu3.jpg") repeat-x scroll 0 0 #0A60A3;
    clear: both;
    font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;
    font-size: 14px;
    height: 30px;
    overflow: visible;
    width: 100%;
    position: relative;
    z-index: 999;
}

donboe… simple solution that worked like a charm. Thank you very much!
