Can I place new Asynchronous GA code in the footer of my page?

I stared typing this, and realised my document structure sucks (I am using head and html elements on my landing page only, and an include on all others). So I am going to fix that.

Q1. But before I do, can I place the new GA Asynchronous code in the footer still? This article seems to say that I should place it just before , however I think that’s just to catch users dropping off before the page loads.

Q2. is it ok to have a separate head and HTML element for my landing page alone (the landing page still pulls an include for the footer? We’re currently only presenting the landing page the first time a user comes to the site.

If it is ok, is it ok to duplicate the GA code just about the

Cheers

I realised that I can have two versions of the same GA code. I am using an include everywhere else though. Therefore I am putting it in the head.

I now remember the reason I have different code is because the include I used also contained a different nav element.

I think I will restructure the pages accordingly.
