Bing and Yahoo not indexing my site

Hi,

I recently launched a new site and its indexed by Google just fine, but Yahoo and Bing just are not seeing it, even if I type the full URL into the browser. I have submitted the site to both engines and added site maps and upp’ed the crawl rate - but its just not happening and I submitted well over 10 days ago

I’m at a loss and really could do with some advice… help!

The URL is icroak.com

thanks

You could probably file for reconsideration through their webmaster tools? May help - just a suggestion…

Have you submitted and verified your site through the Webmaster tools? Do you have a sitemap? Bing is notoriously slow about indexing, but 4 months is excessive… even for them.

Yahoo and bing have more time than Google for index. so wait some time to see your site on those SERP. Don’t worry for that because most of the surfers use google.
Thanks,
Off Page SEO

I think a recent analysis gave Yahoo around 15%, and Bing (IIRC) around 5%. They may be tiny compared with Google but it’s still important to appear in the SERPS. Google seems to hate me right now so I’m grateful for anything coming through from Yahoo.

It wasn’t directed at you.

I had no intention, nor desire, for self promotion. Just in the past I have been *****ed at about not providing the url in comments such as this. Frankly, if anyone is actually going to be able to give me advice on the subject, they probably would require the URL.

If that’s the case, please feel free to delete this thread and my account.

There was a prior Yahoo link as an example of how the site is / isn’t seen, so I provided the same.

Off Topic:

Just a little reminder: Self-promotion is not allowed in SPF therefore do not link to your sites (directly or indirectly). Thank you.

I am in the exact same boat.

When I started my site <snip></snip> I submitted it directly to Yahoo and Bing at the time, as well as google. This was a few months back. I didn’t bother publishing the blog live until I had a half dozen or so content posts lined up, so that shouldn’t have been an issue.

Google indexed me right away, and these days I am seeing a new post indexed by Google within a minute or two of going live. This I am extremely pleased with, and Google is starting to be a very good source of traffic.

Bing/Yahoo, nothing, nadda, bumpkiss.

I submitted using Bing WebMaster tools. I have a sitemap. I have 100% generated, non duplicated content, I use an established CMS. Finally, I am hosting on one of the servers of my primary site, and that other site is indexed just fine.

Using Yahoo Site explorer, I see 3 pages <snip></snip>. Using Bing, nothing. This is for a site that has been live for months and has over a hundred pages now and has over 100 sites linking in.

I am at a bit of a loss at this point. I know Bing/Yahoo represent a tiny fraction of search traffic, but just throwing that traffic away seems to be stupid, especially considering how much traffic I get from yahoo answers.

That one really got me, my site is linked by yahoo answers, but yahoo doesn’t index that!

I hate to say it, but I think Bing is seriously broken, at least for new sites. In search, you see tons of similar comments and no answers from Microsoft.

have you submit it on webmaster tools of bing and yahoo, if not then do it and also submit their site maps, start yahoo answering and try to get those site’s backlinks which have rank on bing and yahoo.

Yahoo has found 19 pages on your site - see http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?p=www.icroak.com for the details.

(The best way to see if a search engine has indexed your pages is to type “site:” followed by your domain name (no spaces). If you get a list of pages on your site then they are indexed.

Yahoo and MSN take more time than google for indexing. Also it should not matter, because hardly 10% use these search engines.

Thanks Steve, its bizarre though that even when I type in the full domain name into yahoo it does return a result though? its does return on the other icroak domains though .biz, .net, .org etc and they have no site maps or anything

it takes a long time for getting indexed by other search engine then google. have some patience and your site will be indexed soon… 10 day is not a big period. you try pinging various ping services and check the result.

I am facing this problem since 4 months.
