OK… Ive been usuing google free tools to guestimate search engine traffic for a given keyword but I need to to double check something.
The something I want to double check is the usefulness of Wordtracker in terms of working out search engine traffic for a specific key word.
For exAMPLE can it work out the search engine traffic potential for specific key phrases such as - “Folding bikes york”. I have used it but many moons ago so just need to make sure it can do this from anyone who is familiar with the package.
I think you should use Google analytics to trace your traffic through any keyword because it can give you exact figure about search engine traffic through any keyword.
Use the Google AdWords tool but make sure you set it to Exact Matches and not Broad Matches.
As a rough guide, a site with the top position on page 1 of Google for a particular term can expect to get around 50% of the volume listed under Exact Matches.
