Can someone point me in the right direction where I can research what are the best video capturing practices? I will be making online video tutorials and would like to know if I should record at a high FPS and then compress/export at a low FPS?
I wouldn’t bother messing with FPS. Record at standard fps, whatever that be for your chosen format.
A more important issue would be compression.
During recording and editing, keep compression to a minimum to maintain quality.
Then compress to a sensible rate for the web at the final encoding prior to upload.
Good advice. My concern is the file size, which is a killer. I obviously record at a high rate, but after compression and changing the ratio of the video, I still wind up with a fairly high video size.
I was hoping to find out how to retain resolution but not get killed with poor quality when compressing the videos.
