Beginners Problems

Hello

I am trying to use this plugin https://github.com/kylefox/jquery-modal (never used one before) so that when I click the events button on my page http://www.jameswinfield.co.uk/Emma.html - the event flyer will come up in a modal box.

It isn’t working.

I am sure I have done lots of stupid things as really struggling to get my head around jquery.

Can anyone advise?

The plugin’s docs list a number of ways to make the script work. For example, instead of using rel="js-modal-trigger", they say to use rel="modal:open" … which works fine.

Or you could give the link a class or id (e.g. class="events") and then put this in a script on your page:

$('.events').click(function(event) {
  event.preventDefault();
  $(this).modal();
});
