Are we at the end of web development?

Hi

As freelancer, I don’t get customers for web development nowadays. What is the reason behind this? could it be that people are moving to mobile platforms and mobile apps these days?

And if so, is building mobile apps will bring me money as web development?

There are many possible reasons. How do you present yourself?

Ralph does have a point and this could be down to a number of things CS Geek.
Though personally, I’m seeing more and more work strongly focused towards mobile development and building mobile apps.
Long gone are the days of building static brochure websites (:

And if so, is building mobile apps will bring me money as web development?

It will certainly increase your chances and improve your skills at the same time. Nothing to lose.
I suggest spending a few hours a day building mobile apps and try to get a better understanding of how things work.
This is something I’ve been putting off for a while, and like you, not sure where to start when building mobile apps.

Me, I’ve started here: https://learnable.com/
There’s a great intro course on android apps. Now I just have to find the time to start actually building something with it.

Exactly Guido

Nice link, though, not sure people want to sign up to a paid subscription.

Freelancer is never a stable job and you get circumstances like this every now and then, I do it occasionally but most for fun as there are projects that I find interests in, it’s not supposed to be a reliable source of income anyway unless you are god at PHP or whatever languages you use. A full time job is what you should always depend on.
