Apache using

Dear sir,
I like to use Apache server in my computer. The problem is in case of installation. I downloaded several times but can not use. May be, i downloaded the wrong version or anything else. Would you kindly tell me the preferable download link and the installation process.
Thank you in advance!

Based on the amount of information you provided, the best I can offer is:

Download the correct file from
http://httpd.apache.org/download.cgi

Extract it to where you want it to be.

Dear sir,
I beg pardon for asking too much. There in the page, I find different types of files. which file should I download?

What operating system are you running? What version?

Sir,
That is widows 7 Ultimate k
Service pack 1

32-bit or 64-bit?

Sir,
32 bit is my pc.
I downloaded the httpd-2.4.20.tar.bz2 file, installed and now while i try by typing “localhost” in the address bar, it do not work.

I’m pretty sure that is not a Windows version. I surprised you were able to install it. Further down the page there is a link Files for Microsoft Windows which if you follow the links will take you to
http://www.apachehaus.com/cgi-bin/download.plx You should see the Apache 2.4.20 download there. I think that should be the one you need.

Dear sir,
I downloaded the “Apache Version: 2.4.20 Win32 Build Date: May 4, 2016” from the link that you provided. After installation, still it not showing the result while I type the “localhost”
in the address bar!

Having installed Apache, assuming the install was successful, did you start the program before trying to navigate to localhost? Were there any setup/configuration instructions?

Just to be clear, you followed the directions in the ReadMe.txt file?

Thank you sir,
Finally I successfully installed the Apache server. The problem that suffered me was missing (.dll) file.I solved the problem with installing Microsoft visual basic!

If you’re using Windows you can try wamp server
It’s a preconfigured Apache+MySQL+PHP application and you doesn’t have to install and configure all that yourself.
Just install and use.
