Angela's and Paul's Link Packets

It seems like you enjoy what has happened to her article. Her article is really gone.

Of course! Anyone who advocates the abuse of others web properties to get links deserves to be treated with contempt.

But many clients required angela and paul style backlinks. Then what we should do we have to go for them.Actually i think its forums responsibility to stop such kind of profiles who doesn’t post anything. What all says?

It depends on your relationship with the client. Do you just do everything they ask you, or do you try to educate them and help them to make better decisions? I would always prefer to work with clients who are open to taking advice, and who can be talked out of doing stupid things.

Actually i think its forums responsibility to stop such kind of profiles who doesn’t post anything.

We’re doing our best

What is an Angela & Paul link? i heard first time this.

A good way to find about words and phrases that you haven’t come across before: Google

You’re not gonna like this, neither do I, but it is how it is. Not so long ago there was a Flippa sale at $300k - a site ranking #1 on some of the most competitive keywords. If you looked at its backlinks they were almost entirely all spam from forum profiles, on multiple levels (links to links) done through a length of time in high volume, probably with something like xrummer. The seller claimed the site had been ranking for the past 6 months, and it is still ranking there to date.

A case study like that shows how this kind of spam works if done correctly.

It’s not like it’s new either. The viagra guys have been doing it for years. Though Google seems to always cut down on those - they still keep popping up again and again. Evidently, they don’t have algorithmic tools to prevent it or those tools don’t work that well. Spam continues to live.

As far as the “packets” go, it’s a cheap way for someone to prey on the gullible. If you do it, at least do it right, otherwise you’ll be spamming and without any results to show for it.

So to answer the question, it does work if done correctly and long enough to be worth doing it, as we have case studies to prove it. It is spam, however, and you will burn in webmaster hell if you do it.

Thanks guys for your replies. Just recently, I heard someone said that his ranking dropped really bad after the google panda update took place. Though I did not bother asking him about why it happened I know that one of his favorite SEO tactics is forum profile creation. This seems to me to be more than enough evidence to not consider this tactic. I guess doing the right things pay way much more in the long run.
