I am new member here on SP. The reason to come here is my website marketing. My site name is <snip> and <snip> is a discussion forum for webmasters and Windows Linux users.I am posting my knowledge on it.But problem is no one know about it. That’s means no traffic on it.I just want someone who help and guide me to market it on the net.I am a student and every one knows students are not so rich. haha .So free Market methods are preferred and helpful for me.

I think you’re going to have an uphill struggle with getting your site known and popular, as there are already a good number of well-established forums in each of those fields. Speaking personally, I’d be more likely to visit a specialist Linux forum with a Linux question, or a webmaster forum with a web question, than a kind of general forum covering several areas. But that might just be me.
To be found without paid marketing, you will need to have good quality, relevant content, that can be indexed by search engines, so that people searching for the answers to their questions will come upon your forum. I did take a quick look at your site, and at the moment, there is very little content there. I realise this is difficult: without members, there’s nobody to post content; without content, it’s very hard to get members.
You’ve said you’re a student. I’d suggest that in the first instance, you publicise your site amongst other students. Get others interested in the same fields to sign up and start asking and answering question. You might find that the idea of trying to build up a forum from scratch is something that would appeal to your fellow students and they’ll be willing to get involved.

I have got the point first i need quality content on the forum. then market it. And initial marketing need to start from my collage.

When it’s about boards you have to market it different. You will need at least few hundreds quality posts done on it before you can start to advertise it seriously otherwise people will come and go. Another fact that I found great is that people love to come on boards where they find something to sell like markets, where they can download something. Always be there for your visitors and send them newsletters. This is a great way to show them respect.
I guess you need to some SEO alone. That’s cheap and this way you will learn better the industry. In time you will see what you need to add more what to remove. You can take as example big boards.

Getting a forum to work isvery tricky because you need to reach a critical speed at which content is being posted to maintain the interest of users so they come back. That will of course differ from subject to sucjet, so you’d be better off finding a niche that is not saturated, or even better not covered.
If i were you i would come up with a list of 100 useful questions that you think your forum can, or should answer… and i would ask them myself in the forum! I would then either answer them myself, or get my friends to answer them. The more useful the answers, the most likely the visitors will stick.
You don’t want “how to cure acne” type questions… you will never get on google results on these. You have to think hard, and then check your competition. Type the question in google and see if it has already been asked and if a good answer exists.
A little bit of creative social media marketing wouldn’t hurt either. <snip>
