But the person recorded as posting it, isn’t necessarily the person who posted it.

you would NOT use a hidden field for the name in your comment form. this is not secure as anyone or anything can set the value to anything they want. if you want to allow Anonymous users to post comments, you would handle this in the server-side post method form processing code
