St. Patrick's Day Game - Staff Welcome!

I had rice with liver at lunch today, but I think I needed more brain.

Anyway, that’s my logic so far:

Look up and look down,
Look left and look right.
[…]
Tell what you see.
The code it will be.

I see green.

Your word is generic,
'though not totally so.
The letters, the letters.
Switch them - you’ll know.

generic(anagram(green)) = genre

Tried “style” also. “Brute force attack!!!” LOL

I’m gonna have to tag some people into this: @samanime; @guido2004; @ParkinT; I think it’s painful for anyone who has finished to watch you right now  You’re so close!!!

It’s more simple than you think. Don’t get too caught up with thinking too hard. You need to make one more connection and then you’re done.

To anyone who has finished - try not to give it away. There’s nothing worse than giving a super-easy clue.

You’re last post made me laugh so hard because you literally have the password in your post!

~TehYoyo

Edit: The password is obvious once you get it (as it always is :P). If you think it’s weird that the ‘genre’ is the password you got from my hint, then it’s probably not it.

It seems a new type of stand-up comedy is born: online stand-up comedy.

To me “genre” it’s not weird, it’s logic: the anagram of “green” describing something generic. If it’s something else I need to get, than it’s out of my league, with the clues that were given. The answer may be a bit farfetched? Or related to something ethnic that I don’t really know?

Wait! Don’t give up now! You’re so close! Think outside the box. Maybe the word ‘generic’ isn’t being used as an adjective…(read: yeah. it’s not being used as an adjective - oops.) Again, think outside the box about what generic could be.

Now, I know that you’ll no go and Google ‘generic used as noun’ or something of the sort. Don’t. Just think about the clues and think outside the box.

Determination. You’ll get there.

It made me think of Lord of the Rings

I don’t quite get that reference :frowning:

But…

Congratulations to Guido2004 for finishing the clue hunt! When asked, he declined to comment.

Grats!

~TehYoyo

I explained in a pm (might be giving too obvious a clue).

Got it.

Interesting relation - confusing to me, but if it works in your mind, then who am I to judge?

Don’t give up, @itmitică; !

~TehYoyo

A shout out to @samanime; who has also finished the clue hunt!

Keep it coming!

SPF Staff Rock!

Did you complete the hunt yet? Come on, don’t disappoint us…

No, I was too interested in the invalid markup.

Im interested where to begin. What will be the prizes?

The prize is revealed when you reach it.

You sent me a pm with an html address…what do you want me to do?

To begin, just follow the first clue that is in the first post.

Ouch. I thought I validated…

Has anyone found my little easter egg?

~TehYoyo

Yay - I finally got there.

(I’d love to know @guido2004’s “Lord of the Rings” reference. For me, it was more a case of “What a wonderful world.” )

I’ve yet to find the easter egg. I went and looked through the code, but didn’t see anything too unusual. =p

Same here. Maybe the Easter Bunny hasn’t been yet?

Not really in the code…think about how you would cheat after getting to the first Dropbox link.

Don’t think so much about the code so much as where the code (and what it makes up) is. On a macro level.

If you’re still stumped, I can give you another hint  But then again, Easter Eggs should really be harder to find than clues.

~TehYoyo

Edit: I’ll give you another hint - the Easter Egg was designed to stop cheaters.

Well that explains why @samanime and I can’t find it. We’re far too upright and law-abiding.

 Or maybe it’s just because you make up really good excuses.
