Simple code works in FF and Chrome - not in IE

Thank you everyone for helping me with this php problem. I was able to use these posts to convince my client that we need a more secure solution for accessing their ftp server. I am in the process of figuring that out, but couldn’t have gotten past this hump without your help. For the record, I did get the php code to work like I originally wanted using this thread.

And your thoughts on writing legible code are true. This is my first time trying to do something like this, and it does make it a lot easier to understand if you put a little thought into the formatting and variable names. My problem was that I don’t know when its okay in php to use a new line and when its not okay. I don’t know php at all, and thought if I made it into separate lines, I would f it up.

Cheers!

Eric

Unlike some other languages PHP doesn’t care how you layout your code. If you decide you want ten empty lines after each line of code than that’s fine as far as PHP concerned. Doesn’t look pretty though I reckon

No sweat, I think most of us here are happy to help. Good luck with your project!
