Security in online shopping: credit/ debit card validation

I have a small company selling over the internet and i have used shop fitter for my transactions. They charge per transaction and then if the site takes off the amout gos down with volume. Thet also give you a template to build a site if you need. It is limited but its good enough for me.

thank you. i think i would try paypal… any online references about using paypal to process payments…?

i dont really like using some open source shopping cart like zencart…

i have another site which will only collect memberships/ member fees from the members - is paypal a good choice for collecting member fees only…?

Lau, PayPal is one of the most popular systems, you sure can use it without any doubts. Contact the company directly, their representatives will consult you on all your questions.

As for recurring payments, PayPal also offers this opportunity.

Also, do you have any sites already built? Do you plan to integrate them with shopping cart? Or would you like just to build on-line stores from scratch?

i have this demo site and would like to do another like this with the membership in the near future, and i think we dont need shopping cart system for this kind of membership website…?

I may do a online store from scratch for the other website - its just a small site so i think i can programme it but the trickiest part is the payment…

i have a site based in the UK only, another site based in overseas - Hong Kong…

Then under UK law you are only allowed to store the details in your system for up to 6 months, after which you must then delete the CC info. Nevertheless, unless you have a good reason there’s no reason not to use a payment gateway as discussed above. Even if you took the CC details manually, you’d have to employ someone to process them by hand over the phone and VISA will charge a fee for that.

At least if you use an online gateway it’s instant, you don’t have to bother with the legal implications of storing CC details and the fees will be no more than if you did it manually.

I believe one of your sites would be regular on-line store, for this kind of site you could just use some built shopping cart, that would allow you to manage all aspects of e-commerce store easily.

As for the second site, i believe this would be some kind of informational website where you will have members. For this purpose you could use amember services, they offer integration with multiple payment systems as well as content management systems.

Well, One of my buddy was facing the same problem last year then He might read somewhere or got an idea from someone I didn’t remember but He was mention me about Paypal.
paypal is the best to do such things.
