Page loading in parts

Why not? Does the page make only a single HTTP request?

As @RyanReese suggested in his post#13 use http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/

Pingdom will browse your web-page and produce a detailed report.

Also there are comprehensive instructions on how to reduce your response time.

For a quick check, I like the “View document size” option in the Web Developer Toolbar.

No, because I didn’t use JavaScript or AJAX, on some pages it makes multiple calls.

I guess I was hoping there was a way to have PHP and the Webserver do everything they need and then display the page.

(When you order a hamburger, they don’t bring out a bun, and then fling you your patties, and then come out later with lettuce, tomatoes and onions, and then…)

I saw that, but had horrible Internet last night, plus I guess I have to remove my .htaccess password for it to work?

A browser will do that for you though by default  .

Are you getting an error when trying?

Good thing I don’t order lunch over my browser!

Well, I saw a thumbnail of the login screen for my .htaccess login. I had hoped that if I logged in once, my browser would keep the settings, but since this site tests your site as another site, my .htaccess blocked it as intended.

When I have time, I’ll have to log into the webserver and disable my password and try it again.
