Thanks Paul. I was playing with it this morning and was able to get it working using mouseover and mouseout but what bothered me is that those events are continuously firing when the mouse is over them and moving.
Will try to upgrade to 1.8.3 but I know I have a ton of old code that is using deprecated functions and events … le sigh
