It could mean that. Depends on the workload and projects I guess.
You could try for a salaried position that gives you freedom to work your own hours as long as stuff is getting done.
But hey, we’re ALL on the quest for that perfect job right?

Hm … I live in Seattle myself (not as inexpensive as a lot of people seem to think). Anyway, there are a lot of unhappy MS contract workers around here. While you don’t sound excited about the DOD job, maybe the thing would be to stay with MS and continue looking for the right job. I have always felt it’s easier to land a good job when you currently have a position.
