php 6 and mysql 5

hi all,
ive downloaded a book on php 6 and mysql 5. im still trying to get to grips with php 5. i just wanted to get your views on the following: is it worth reading the book now or shall I wait for a while until php 6 becomes more commonly used? I normally like to wait a while after an application/code has been released so that any initial bugs are ironed out and there is more support out there. Ill probably need to get our hosting guys to set up php 6 on the servers.

PHP6 isn't out yet, just test versions - learn PHP5 first, just make sure register_globals and magic_quotes is disabled on your learning server (because neither will be available in PHP6).

not much is changed from PHP 5 to 6, a few outstanding bugs have been fixed and a few new features like Unicode support, however learning PHP 6 now is the same as learning 5.

this is a good article:
http://www.sitepoint.com/article/whats-new-php-5-3
it seems that the major changes are to do with namespaces and classes.
im using 5.2.5, time for an upgrade me thinks!
