@01globalnet – excellent tip! For me it was never a problem – I do not write “digg” content. Also, the plugin is kinda tricky for beginners who don’t really know what they are doing. It can enter in conflict with other plugins, and even cause loss of data if installed improperly. But for more advanced users, who actually write “digg” content the plugin is a must. :) Thank you for adding it.

I believe the most MUST-HAVE wp plugin would be WP-Cache or WP-Super Cache – you can survive the digg/slashdot storm even in the most overloaded servers :)

The SEO All-in-one is also one of my favorite plugins as well but I do not worry about duplicate penalty as I haven’t seen any eidence of it being a penalty rather if anything it is a filter. I have lots of the same articles on websites that are in the SERPS and probably getting links.

Can’t say enough good things about the Featured Content Gallery. It’s really improved in the short time it has been overseen by the new dev team. Fast, simple to use, and integrates very tightly with WordPress.

Allan, I would love to test anything but I am not willing pay to do it. It’s usually the other way around. Also, by the look at the screenshots on interspire.com/websitepublisher/ the software is not as user friendly as WP: far too crowded, too many options, etc.

Have any of you tried the new version 5 of website publisher from Interspire? It’s a few hundred bucks but gives wordpress a run for its money – definintely a better more fully featured CMS.

@kingkool68, that Plugin you suggested is a wonderful addition to this list, assuming that we blog from our mobile phones. I still prefer the desktop – I have a tendency of writing long posts. But the future… oh, the future! You are already one step ahead! ;)
@Thomas, what type of audio? Do you mean a WP player?
@Gary – I am familiar with the Paltinum plugin but I still prefer All In One SEO Pack :) – a matter of habit I suppose.
@www.whataboutki.com – why do you think wpTouch is better?
@Giancarlo Colfer – YES! a polls plugin would also maximize user participation on a blog.

I would like to mention Lester Chan’s (lesterchan.net) WP-Polls Plugin. The interactivity and involvement of the community can be very useful for both the webmaster and other site visitors.

I am running a start up site and have collected close to 1,000 individual votes. It’s super easy to setup, manage and implement on your site. I encourage others to give WP-Polls a try and many other great plugin’s offered from Lester Chan.
