Nice post.
I might also consider adding 2008 was a turnaround year for Apple. Macbooks and Macbook Pros became the best selling laptops across more than just marketing, entertainment and creative markets. I believe Apple also sold more computers in 2008 than any year in the history of the company. Since the new advertising campaign (I'm a Mac/I'm a PC) began in late 2006, the addition of the iPhone and the highly promoted Macs and Macbook Pros with dual Intel chipsets, Apple finally began to look cool to many users of not just the "other" operating system, but also those in other industries previously dominated by other platforms.
I believe 2008 was an exciting time for Apple and it's dedicated customers. I truly enjoy my Mac and due to an incredible ad campaign and an extremely dedicated team of brilliant designers and developers, the Mac Leopard platform has become more appealing than ever before.

Umm...the cloud computing section was a little scant...as much as it pains me to give Microsoft props, you've got to give them credit for their amazing roll-out of the Azure platform in 2008. The integration of Live Services, .NET services, SQL services, and Sharepoint services in the cloud environment? IMHO that warrants a mention.
