@david.seth.p:

It is not human to be sitting in a chair for hours on end pounding away at the keyboard.

I have this T-Shirt and I love wearing it to the studio. ;)

I assumed that the iPhone's touch screen would be harder to use, and simply be "better" only because it offered more screen real estate. I was wrong; its touch screen is far easier and more comfortable to type on than the tiny physical keys of the Treo.

@Aarem ah yes, the thought of fresh air and sun was one of the thoughts that I had in mind writing this. It is not human to be sitting in a chair for hours on end pounding away at the keyboard. I truly believe that we would be more productive if our bodies felt more at ease.

I think it would trigger a more natural self and bring out a more truthful self.

cheers,

Nice article, David. I often shut down the computer late at night, only to find myself scribbling madly on chits of paper all the useful stuff that comes to mind... which I then type up the next morning.

As far as technology has come, it still has a long way to go to feel 'natural'. I regularly find myself juggling a book in one hand and the mouse in another as I learn new computer skills. Ah no, there must be a better way. Ebooks are an improvement, but it will be interesting to see where it all goes.

Wouldn't it be nice if technology ultimately put us back where we belong... out in the fresh air, under the sun, free to roam!
