There is a new micro-blog that acts like Twitter, the main difference being no spam. This is because the purpose is to chat with friends you have and not to use it to form an online group of friends.

Im really new to twitter so haven’t seen this problem but if it gets anywhere near as annoying as myspace has become i don’t think i’ll be around long

That’s a good thing. I only have about 65 followers but I am blocking at least one spammer a day for the last few weeks. Now I keep finding that when I go to block they are already suspended.
