This actually means that you can develop .NET 2.0 application with VS2008 however you still have to install .NET 3.5 to use VS2008.

Anyway, .NET 3.5 has a lot of promising features, including ASP.NET 3.5 Extentions, new language versions: C# 3.0, VB 9.0 and so on. Oh yeah we mustn't forget about .NET 3.0 (WPF, WCF, Workflow) and of course Silveright that is actually a separate thing but deserves a lot of attentiion.</description>
