Considering the amount of trackbacks some of these blogs get, it can be quite annoying, but something I guess we all have to live with. They can be useful though if you follow those links back to their blogs as they may have related info on similar topics. I am interested as to what your thoughts are on the approach of this blogger that always quotes you and posts it in the comments here. I personally find it extremely annoying and basically spam which to me is just destroying any chance of him becoming an expert. He could be an excellent designer, developer, whatever he does, but I'm never going to find out what he does or give him a chance. Even if he did succeed it just seems like using your words makes you remain the expert and he's still 2nd best. Is becoming 2nd in the field a waste of time or an effective launching point? (The mentor system I can see working somewhat like this, but then you would have to be promoting him as well) Its nice to have an update.
