Firefox will remain my preference. I was pleased that my site was only slightly different in rendering probably because it still has tables in use for layout. { I have the latest version on tableless layout under detailed testing }. It has also been installed, run for a month and removed. It appears, like so much Microsoft product to be very 'heavy' My install (Intel P4, 2.4) was much slower than the IE6. Just as I must test on Safari even though I’m a Windows user, you will have to test on IE7 even though you’re Win2K users. Such is the price of being a professional web designer.

I absolutely disagree. Win2K IS still supported depending on if you are at SP4 and how you look at it. Although it has gone from “mainstream” to “extended” support, the key differences are:

“Microsoft will not accept requests for warranty support, design changes, or new features during the Extended support phase.” We will of course continue to keep our Windows 2000 SP4 customers secure with security updates through the life of Windows 2000 (through 2010).

I agree that IE7 has to be tested, but it also needs to be supported on, well, supported OS’s.
