I am hoping this is about micropayments, so you can easily do $0.01+ payments at websites for example to download content, get site access for a day etc.

hey nice idea about micropayments.... could be a way for google to offer pay-for-view services.... if they're planning to introduce subscription based content into their indexes, they could share revenue with such paid sites... and let surfers make small payments for viewing content. etc ...

Who would actually pay to read returned search results for what is already a free service? Users would flee and jump to rival engines. It is possible however that it could be tied to the Google Print project, so you pay a fee to search/read through books online without having to purchase them (this would probably alleviate the copyriters concerns as well if they get a cut from the revenue). This would be a viable micropayment scheme on the surface. But whatever it turns out to be, it will have to be for an already paid service, or an as yet unreleased service, otherwise it wont fly
