This AdWords Keyword Tool is great to combine two lists of keywords for AdWords, so I thought I would promo it here.

No tracking is done moltar, but if you want, I can send you a free copy ;-)

So would you have this hypothetical ad.php script then forward the browser to the correct landing page?

If this is the case, why not use a 301 redirect and allow the spider to follow - and hopefully gain the SE benefits as well?

The question is do you really want to give away your list of keywords to someone else ;)
So would you have this hypothetical ad.php script then forward the browser to the correct landing page? If this is the case, why not use a 301 redirect and allow the spider to follow - and hopefully gain the SE benefits as well?
Any incoming redirect/tracking script should use a 301 redirect, if you are redirecting the visitor to a static landing page. With PPC advertising, you may be better off delivering a dynamic landing page based on the search terms used to increase your conversion rate, rather than trying to pick up a few marginal links. Letting the spiders follow those links and potentially find a bunch of nearly identical pages isn't what I'd call an SEO benefit.
