I downloaded JSC a month ago for OS X and have run through a couple of tutorials with it. For a newbie Java developer with not a lot of time on his hands, this offers me a great way to get work done and learn at the same time. When my trial runs out in about a week, I will most likely purchase the software for my personal business use. It's got a couple bugs (okay, more than a couple) but overall a pretty sweet package.

This is a huge boon for prototyping for Java projects. In many cases I have seen hours upon end dedicated to prototyping in Excel due to a lack of a 'quick and dirty' IDE. JSC offers this now and will be very helpful - especially for those developing Java apps on OS X. FYI - ThinkFree Office was one of several substantial Java apps developed recently for OS X..

I have a question about JavaServer Faces. Do they run on Tomcat 4/5 or does the server need to be a Sun product?

I have a question about JavaServer Faces. Do they run on Tomcat 4/5 or does the server need to be a Sun product?

JSF will run on any up-to-date J2EE server, including Tomcat 4/5. The latest version of JavaServer Faces is part of J2EE 1.4, so any server that supports that standard will have JavaServer Faces support built in.
