haha.
you couldn't have came up with a better first line.
I never thought about red x green before.
Just remember though, the more you muliply..consider that getting closer to #000 (which is black) although, I've always thought if you mix all colors you'd get a nice mix of brown. hehe.
Good job.

Great tutorial...it'd be cool to see an example of colorizing B&W photos that way, does anyone have a Web site they like that explains this feature?

With some help from Mr. Google, I came across this link that kind of explains a little more the theory behind multiply mode:

http://www.planetphotoshop.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002145.html

Also, there are a lot of "colorize black and white photos" tutorials out there, many of which start with a color photo and then turn part of it to black and white. (See the google search.) This particular tutorial starts with black and white photos...

For my next blog on Friday, maybe I'll take up the challenge of black and white photo "colorizing" and continue with blending modes next week...

Bravo!

I used to do crazy things to color scanned in line drawings... like selecting the white areas and deleting them and filling in.... but then not all white areas scanned in white so you had to spend time using brighten or in my earlier days using the eraser tool.... what a waste of time...

This technique is a great time saver and you don't even have to worry about staying in the lines.... sort of... just like in preschool... simple and fun!

Thanks
Eric B
