Head of Architecture

Role: Head of Architecture Salary: £110k - £140k Location: UK, Remote working Start date: ASAP Company: A rapidly growing B2B SAAS business operating within the tech for good space. Role: The Head of Architecture will be responsible for setting and guiding the technical vision and strategy. This individual will oversee the development and deployment of scalable, high-performance solutions across various products and platforms. The role involves shaping architectural practices, ensuring these align with the company's broader objectives, and directing the technical path of the organisation. A successful candidate will have strong leadership and management capabilities, with a focus on optimising processes, integrating systems, and leading a team of architects and engineers within a dynamic, growing business environment. The business essentially need this person to create a map for their Software Engineering teams to refer to. (Think C4 Model) Therefore you must have experience of doing this in a previous role to be a suitable fit. Key Responsibilities: Define and execute the architectural vision, ensuring scalability and performance Align technical goals with business objectives to support growth. Lead and mentor a team of architects, fostering a high-performance culture. Develop career growth plans to enhance team skills Establish architecture processes and standards for quality and consistency Promote modern development practices and tools for scalable solutions Work with Product Management, Engineering, and others to integrate architectural solutions effectively. Encourage communication and alignment on technical strategies Lead design reviews, ensuring compliance with technical standards and business needs Address technical debt to maintain platform scalability and sustainability Stay current with industry trends and technologies, fostering continuous improvement and innovation Manage risks by ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards Key Skills: Proven experience leading architecture teams and managing change Strong mentoring and people management skills Deep understanding of scalable, distributed systems in SaaS Knowledge of cloud architecture, microservices, and modern software practices Expertise in refining architecture processes and ensuring alignment with business goals Experience in governance and best practice implementation Excellent communication skills to influence stakeholders and drive cross-team collaboration Strong analytical skills and experience balancing short- and long-term goals Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of SaaS technologies, cloud computing, and architecture Hands-on experience with relevant software development frameworks Industry Experience: Experience in a fast-growing B2B SaaS environment Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards Apply to this advert and i will drop you a call to discuss, Charles - Founder & Advisor YNH
