Job description: Solutions Architect Microsoft Salary & Benefits: Up to £73,855 dependent on experience, a company car lease/allowance scheme, annual incentive related bonus (up to 10% of annual salary), private health care, attractive pension scheme (Up to 10% company contribution), life assurance cover of 4 times pensionable salary and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and a wellness day. We have an exciting opportunity for a Solutions Architect to join the Technology Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Our Technology team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators. Our Solutions Architects will report into the Lead Solution Architect for Microsoft & AI, and is responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-level solutions using Microsoft technologies such as Azure, BizTalk, and Microsoft SQL. The role is broad in nature and requires a deep understanding of Microsoft's technology stack, integration patterns, and best practices. You will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyse existing systems, and propose innovative solutions aligned with business objectives and technology roadmaps. Where you fit in: As our Solutions Architect for Microsoft you will: Have experience of designing and implementing solutions using Microsoft technologies (e.g. Azure, BizTalk, and Microsoft SQL) and you will need a strong understanding of integration patterns and, messaging architectures (e.g. MQTT, SOAP, and REST) . Be proficient in at least one Microsoft programming language (e.g. C#) and experienced with Microsoft SDKs and frameworks. Have familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code tools (e.g. ARM template, or Terraform) Be experienced with security best practices, identity and access management, data protection, and network Security in Microsoft technologies Have relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g. Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) is highly desirable Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure services, features, and industry trends, and continuously improve knowledge and skills Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and governance requirements, including identity and access management, data protection, and network security Perform technical assessments, proof-of-concepts, and evaluations of Microsoft technologies to identify the best fit for the organisation's needs What skills & qualifications you will need: Minimum of 10 years of practical experience in a Solutions Architecture or related field Extensive knowledge of Enterprise infrastructure and applications and experience of migration to cloud Experience in using structured Architecture Models such as TOGAF Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, and development teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions Understanding of industry standards, best practices, and Microsoft's architecture guidelines Although our assets are operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year the company is committed to support flexible work patterns and job share options, where possible, to give you more control over your time and responsibilities.
