Lead Data Scientist - Insurance £90,000 - £110,000 - Hybrid in London My client are a digital insurance broker, focused on business insurance. They aim to simplify the complexities of insurance for small businesses, sole traders, landlords and high-growth firms, regardless of risk, geography or industry. They are simply leading in the space and their technology underpins this. About the role: As a Lead Data Scientist, you'll be responsible for steering the data science strategy and deliver innovative uses of AI into the insurance industry. You will be hands on with a view to management further down the line. You'll report directly to the Head of Data and have a chance to make an immediate impact with a focus on enhancing revenue and team efficiencies. What you’ll get up to: ● You'll own and lead data science projects from initial concept to implementation, with a focus on customer needs and business objectives. ● You'll have a chance to work across the business and see how Data Science can positively impact different departments. ● You'll be using ML methodologies to contribute to the pricing optimization strategy. ● Design, plan, and implement scalable and future-proof data science applications and pipelines ● Monitor and maintain data science products post-launch. About you: ● An experienced Senior Data Scientist or pre-existing Lead that's happy to be hands on. ● Technical expertise in Python, SQL, FastAPI (or similar) ● Experience working with real-time data applications ● Fundamental understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence - GBMs, GLMs, probability calibration, clustering, linear optimization, neural networks etc.) ● Experimental/ creative mindset when it comes to the potential use cases of AI and machine learning techniques and how they can be applied. ● A fantastic story telling ability. ● You can take the technical to the non-technical. ● Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics or computer science This is a three stage interview process and the client have an appetite to make it a concise process.
