Technical Business Analyst / Systems Designer - Front Office Software Development Projects - Hedge Fund

This leading Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund seeks an experienced Technology Business Analyst / Functional Architect with current Python &/ SQL skills and a background as a Software Developer / Programmer / Data Engineer to own the full life cycle delivery of X-Asset Front and Middle office technology (Engineering) initiatives in partnership with Quant Research, Product Management and Software Development teams. You would be responsible for capturing multiple concurrently requirements from Quant Research and Trading, then developing functional specifications, detailed technical specifications (such as full system, API and Database Schema design), rolling out to SW development / engineering teams globally, then oversight of build through project tracking, post-implementation analysis, etc. Example strategic technology projects you will own include (Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Crypto, Power and Gas) sourcing and capture of new reference and real-time data sources, build of new data pipelines, traditional and ML frameworks, and APIs to backtesting/simulator engines, then to execution, risk, OMS, and post-trade solutions for go-live. Applicants suited to this X-Asset Technical Business Analyst role require the following - 5-10 years Business Analysis experience within a Tier-1 Investment Bank, Hedge Fund or leading FinTech organisation delivering Software Development projects for the Trading, Risk and Research community An understanding of Trade Flow for 2 or more of the following - Equities, FX, Interest Rates, Credit Derivatives, or Commodities Prior background as a Developer / Programmer / Data Engineer Have current Python & SQL skills comfortable creating in-depth systems design documentation for the likes of APIs, Microservices, and Database Schemas Have a 2:1 or 1st in Computer Science or similar Have experience of both Agile and Waterfall methods, but adopt a pragmatic approach to their adoption, applying best approach for strategic / tactical nature of the technology initiative being delivered.
