Position Summary What you'll do About the team: Walmart's Advertising Technology group enables the connection between supplier brands and retail shoppers at unprecedented scale. We are a highly motivated group of engineers and data scientists, working in an agile group to solve sophisticated and high impact problems. We serve billions of ad requests every month with our high-performance ad servers. We build smart data systems that ingest, model, analyze and optimize the massive flow of data from online and store user activity and transactions. We use cutting edge machine learning, data mining and optimization algorithms on this data. Above all, we are laser focused on delivering experiences that our customers and advertisers love. This role is part of our Sponsored Products Platform Advertising engineering team and will build the next generation omni-advertising platforms to deliver performance and value at scale. A successful person in this role will architect major components of the Sponsored Products initiatives for AdTech , drive alignment with other teams, guide architecture and technology choices within the team and across WMC. This role will be responsible for analyzing competitive trends and patterns; analyzing the technology landscape; evaluating short- and long-term implications and communicating strategies and initiatives clearly. This is a hands-on Architect role, and we are looking for an exceptional and experienced coder first. What You'll Do : Developing highly scalable applications to process millions of requests per day and solve complex software systems problems by leveraging state-of-the-art technology. Working with the product managers to carry out various experiments across different areas of the AdTech platforms to improve advertiser experience and platform performance. Driving projects of high visibility across the organization. Showing your chops as an exceptional and experienced coder. Leads and directs in large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions. Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); directing actions as designated in the plan. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open-Door Policy. Mentoring and guiding mid-to-junior engineers. What you will bring: 15 years of experience in in architecting highly scalable & performing Web Applications Expertise in Typescript/JavaScript, React, Redux, NodeJS, HTML, CSS, REST, Web Services Proficient in developing / architecting high transaction high throughput systems Deep knowledge in building distributed systems which can handle scale. Advanced knowledge of complex software design, distributed system design, design patterns, data structures and algorithms. Experience in leveraging and contributing to open source technologies experience in agile ways of working in a distributed geographical model. Experience in one or more public cloud technologies like GCP, Azure, etc. Excellent debugging and problem-solving capability. Experience in working in large teams using CI/CD and agile methodologies. Must have Domain expertise in Native Product Ads / Sponsored Search systems. The annual salary range for this position is $169,000.00-$338,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
