They leverage their mathematical prowess to analyse data, predict and manage risks, set equitable premiums, design innovative insurance products, and contribute to long-term financial planning. By applying their actuarial skills, they provide invaluable insights that drive our decision-making processes.As a Prophet Modeller at Vitality Life, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing our actuarial model. You will be a Prophet subject matter expert and responsible for ensuring the Prophet model always remains fit-for-purpose and up to date to ensure accurate and efficient modelling processes that support our business objectives. Key Actions Design, develop, and implement actuarial models using Prophet. Customise and enhance existing models to meet specific business needs and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with the wider actuarial team to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Consult with other departments, such as IT and finance, to integrate models into broader business processes. Ensure models are accurate, efficient, and compliant with regulatory standards. Perform model validation and testing to ensure reliability and accuracy. Ensure a robust and audit standard model change control process is maintained with associated documentation. Prepare model documentation, including methodologies, assumptions, simplifications, and limitations of the model. Engage with external and internal auditors on model developments used for actuarial valuations. Provide support for model-related queries and issues. Ensure all actuarial practices comply with regulatory requirements and professional standards. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in actuarial modelling. What do you need to thrive? Enhance the Prophet model to support more streamlined and efficient valuations Experience in Prophet development with expert Prophet modelling skills. In-depth experience in actuarial valuations (IFRS17 and Solvency II). Develop the Prophet model for new functionality Translate model development requirements into a technical specification from which to build and test Uphold modelling best practice standards Communicate effectively within the team and to other teams across the business Collaborate effectively with different stakeholders in the business. Distil and communicate information to stakeholders. Take full responsibility for work quality and maintain a can-do approach to find solutions. Consult with auditors and external actuaries in the UK and South Africa Work under pressure and within a dynamic and changing environment So, what’s in it for you?
