Purpose of the role: Verian migrated to a new SAP-based ERP suite in late 2023 and we seek a Systems Accountant to help drive the next phase of implementation and optimisation as well as help manage our financial business systems and processes ongoing. The ideal candidate has experience in SAP’s S/4HANA Public Cloud system and with associated technical and financial knowledge. In this role, you will maintain our S/4HANA and Success Factors system and ensure its smooth operation. Working with our central and regional finance teams, and users across the business, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the system supports our business operations and growth and continues to evolve and support our business needs. As well as providing technical support and expertise, you will build relationships with colleagues and external partners, help to develop and deliver training and guidance, and support problem resolution. Main Responsibilities : Oversee the utilisation and optimisation of the S/4HANA system, in line with the principles and design of Verian’s adoption of the system. Serve as a subject matter expert and provide first line technical support to the Finance Team and wider business, supported by an external second level support team where required, with the objective of minimising reliance on the external party. Support our Finance Team to ensure timely delivery of finance and accounting activities including reporting. Directly perform system-based tasks. Support scheduled and ad hoc data analysis and reporting requirements. Offer support to finance and wider colleagues for business-related inquiries. Provide technical support to ongoing business process improvements, working with colleagues across the organisation to help them understand best practice, identify gaps, and create solutions. Ensure consistency and coherence across all system developments and changes in a manner that does not compromise the overall design nor have any unintended negative impacts. Provide end-user training and help to maintain and develop guidance materials and resources. Manage full Master Data lifecycle, including master data creation, maintenance, and retirement. Manage the change request process and individual change delivery activities, including overseeing design, approval, and delivery processes for all changes to system configuration, use, and associated business processes. Contribute to the management of external partners and suppliers. Support the management of licences and costs of service. Collaborate with the Finance Team to ensure comprehensive documentation of all operating procedures and ensure compliance. Lead on system upgrades and implementations, offering expertise and support. Advise on and apply scheduled S/4HANA Public Cloud patches and updates. Support the efficiency and functionality of related SAP systems (Concur, Sales Cloud, Success Factors) and other related software. Requirements S4 Hana experience and ideally certifications. 3 years of work experience with SAP Products and the S/4HANA Public Cloud-based System. Experience of SAP Professional Services. Experience of supporting business use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Experience of working with Finance Teams and knowledge of key financial concepts and activities. A strong aptitude for financial processes and data management. Experience working with data, data models, and data systems related to Finance. Experience of working with external partners, ideally including working with “offshore” BPO. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work in (virtual) teams at all levels, across all time zones. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Self-motivation with a drive to learn and pick up new challenges. Excellent verbal and written communication. Excellent interpersonal skills.
